Ash Island (real name Yoon Jin-young) is a South Korean rapper and singer born on August 11, 1999. He first gained public attention by placing fourth on High School Rapper 2 in 2018. He signed with Ambition Musik later that year, marking the official start of his professional career. Originally known by the stage name Clloud, he debuted in November 2018 with the single How R U. His first full-length album, Ash, dropped in 2019, showcasing a signature style: husky vocals, emotive lyrics, and melodic rap. Over the years, he has released other albums like Island and Rose, and numerous singles illustrating artistic growth and lyrical depth. In mid-2024 he left Ambition Musik, founding his own label Midnight Records. He is also active in fashion through his brand, X:ORDINARY. Beyond music, his authentic storytelling and raw emotional style have helped him build a strong fanbase. He is married to rapper Chanmina, and they welcomed their first child in late 2024.
